weekend fun

Here are some Steele household happenings! We are enjoying summer and packing our weekends full of excitement for Eric. We spent Saturday in Fargo for Eric's sister Jenny's bridal shower and bachelorette party. Sunday we went to church, brunch and then to the splash park. Eric is battling either a really bad cold or annoying allergies. He's been pretty miserable the past week and wanted to keep our weekend pretty tame.

We are working on potty training Mackenzie and she had been doing a pretty great job. She's starting to realize she's going to have to do this all the time and the excitement has worn off a bit for her. We have had to remind her a lot lately to remember to try to go, but she's still doing a pretty good job. Here she's in her big girl undies :-)

Nolan was the only guy at Jenny's bridal shower this weekend. Mackenzie went with Grandpa Delton, Daddy and Uncle Scott to Thunder Road for the afternoon. Poor peanut was an inch too short to ride in the cars. She still had fun playing games and making the guys run around after her. Nolan was such a great little guy at the shower. I love spending my time with him!

the last fling before the ring! We started the bachelorette party at Jenny's apartment and then they all headed out for a night downtown. I opted for motherhood and headed home at 8:45 to find out that my little angel Nolan cried almost the entire time I was gone. :-( I felt bad for him, but it's good for him to know that I'll come back.

Happy Father's Day to the best Daddy my children could ask for. Eric is such a great dad! He LOVES to play with them and really helps with everything. He had a great dad moment when Macky didn't get on the toilet quick enough at Thunder Road, so she pooped on the floor. Yuck. pretty glad I missed that one! Here Nolan and Daddy are enjoying Sunday brunch. Mackenzie was in desperate need of a nap and refused the picture

After her 2 hour nap, she was all smiles. It may have had something to do with the fact that she got to play in the splash park again. She loves this place, but the water is just freezing. We can't keep waiting for a 90 degree day, it just isn't happening! It was only in the 70's today, so she didn't last too long.

Nolan fell asleep in the swing and looked so cozy. He is such a sweet little guy. We are so blessed to have healthy, happy children!!! Thank you God!!!

We also thank God for our children to have their grandparents so close. My parents are so helpful and love to take our kiddos anytime we need (or want) them to. Eric's parents are only in Fargo and we have seen them so much more now that we are a little closer. We sure are lucky!

Happy Father's Day to all those great Dads out there! Especially to my wonderful hubby Eric, my extremely helpful Dad Butch, my sweet father in law Delton and of course my amazing grandfathers watching down from heaven, Grandpa C.B and one of my best friends Grandpa Earl! Love you all and thanks for being role models for me and my children!

and as our priest said in church today, "happy father's day to all the dads, especially the ones who are still in the thick of it!" (happy father's day to all our friends who are brand new to this daddy world and ones who have recently added a new bundles of joy to their growing families)
