summer vacation

Well yesterday was what summer is supposed to be like! We finally had a 70 degree day and there was only a slight wind. Much better than the 50 mph day on Tuesday. Grand Forks Softball Association did NOT cancel softball on Tuesday, so my poor man came home with terrible windburn. It seems to be healing well; he's just a little pink now. We didn't end up going anywhere for my birthday because of softball and the yucky wind. We'll have to have a date night sometime soon.

Back to yesterday: beautiful weather led us to our first park outing of my summer. Nolan even sat in the swing and fell asleep and Mackenzie was a brave climber. After the park we came home and ate lunch. Then BOTH of my little love bugs decided to take a nap at the SAME TIME! AMAZING!!! I started Nolan's scrapbook finally and was able to finish 4 pages before Macky woke up. I let her help me with the last page I was working on and it took 3 times as long to finish it. She loves "pogects" (projects). Once Nolan woke up we headed back outside for a walk through the yard to pick up sticks so Eric could mow.

I did have a quick meeting at school, which cut into the beautiful day. But all in all it was a nice beginning to my summer break. We'll see how today goes. Both are asleep at it's only 10am. Both are battling a cold and we are bringing Nolan in to the doctor today. Hopefully it's just a cold, but he's been trying to get over it since May 22nd. yuck!

here are a few pictures of our day

Climbing on the ladder, she practiced this a lot during her gymnastics class this winter. she wanted to climb this thing all morning, but hated trying the ladder at gymnastics

happy girl, loving the nice weather finally. yes she still has a jacket on. When we went to the park it was only 58 degrees.

walking to the park with our sweet double stroller. I really like it. Nolan's car seat doesn't fit perfectly so we have him strapped in with the red strap. It works really well and keeps him in place. Mackenzie has liked it, too. She loves to be able to see "brother Nonan" or sometimes Noyan, or even Nogan. She's working on it. :-)
