Mackenzie's 3rd birthday

well I missed all of March, and it was a big month! My favorite part of it was Mackenzie's birthday. I really can't believe she's 3 already. It really freaks me out that she says, "next birthday, I will be 4, mommy" Yikes! We have her all ready to go to preschool for the fall. She's super excited for it and talks about school almost every day. Here are a few pictures from her birthday week.

I had conferences on her birthday, but finished up early so we could go to Space Aliens for her birthday dinner. She dressed herself on her birthday and that's the outfit she came up with (really cute!). Nolan was a little upset that his game of basketball had ended.
Mackenzie opened up a few gifts at dinner.

Such a big girl. Basketball was the only game they wanted to play.

We had our conference trade day off the day after Mackenzie's birthday, so we made it our day of fun. This was one of my favorite days ever! We had a great time. We started out our day with coffee at the Coffee Company. She had a hot chocolate and we played a ton of games. It was so relaxing and so much fun to just visit and play with her all day.

After coffee we went shopping for a while and then had her pictures taken. She is such a little ham when she gets her pictures taken. They don't need to work hard to get her to smile at all. She told me the next day that out of everything we did, pictures were her favorite part of the day and we did a lot!

Later Friday night, Mackenzie and I got to enjoy a Sioux hockey game....just girls. We had so much fun and she asked a ton of questions about hockey, which I loved answering. Her most pressing question was why the goalie gets to have his own water bottle and all the other players have to get it on the bench. Also she kept asking why some players go through the doors and others go over the boards to get on the ice. She was so much fun and now I can't wait for more games next season with her.

This was Mackenzie's birthday party, her first friend party. We had it at Red River Valley Gymnastics. It was a great time! Nolan enjoyed the open space, too.

a very happy 3 year old

The parachute was the best part. She loved sitting in the middle while everyone spun her around. We had a busy couple of days, but they were so worth it. We had beautiful weather and spent the time with great family and friends.
Happy 3rd birthday to my fast-paced, happy-go-lucky girl!
